Tutorial Guide 06
Using Forms and the Scout Society SS Portal
Member Resources
Scout Society uses Google Workspace as their Intranet which is meant for member-only resources and forms. Some forms can only be opened while signed into an authorized Scout Society account, so the most common access problem is simply being signed into the wrong account.
Opening the SS Portal
- Open the Scout Society website and select the SS Portal link or access it directly by going to ss-portal.scoutsociety.org.
- Sign in, use your Scout Society account.
- After the portal opens, use its navigation to reach the member resource or form you need.
- If you receive a You need access message, check your Google profile picture and switch to the @scoutsociety.org account before requesting access.
Completing a restricted Google Form
- Read the form instructions before entering information.
- Confirm that the signed-in account shown at the top of the form is your Scout Society account.
- Complete all required fields marked by the form.
- Review dates, names, rank information, and other important entries before submitting.
- If the form offers to email you a copy of your response, keep it until the request has been handled.
Never submit a password, 2-Step Verification code, or account-recovery code through a Google Form. Google may require you to sign in before opening a restricted form, but the form itself should not collect your password as a response.
If a form will not open
- Switch from a personal Gmail account to your Scout Society account, then reopen the link.
- If you still do not have permission, contact the form owner or organization administrator.
- Do not create a second Scout Society account or ask another Scout to submit the form for you.
The SS Portal may contain information intended only for members. Do not repost restricted links, forms, or documents publicly unless the organization has confirmed they are intended for public access.
