Scoutbook Plus: Recordkeeping
Activity Records
Scoutbook Plus can also track activities such as service projects, campouts, and hikes. Scouts and parents can enter or join activities, but the entry remains pending until an authorized unit leader approves it.
Before entering an activity
- Check whether the unit already created the activity; joining it is usually better than creating a duplicate.
- Use the actual date and only the distance, nights, or hours that apply to you.
- If you are unsure, ask the unit leader or advancement coordinator before creating another record.
Record or join an activity
- Open your Scout profile and choose the activity type, such as Service Hours, Camping, or Hikes.
- Select Create or Join.
- Join an existing unit activity for the correct date when available; otherwise create a personal activity only when appropriate for your unit’s process.
- Enter the required measurements, save the activity, and check that it shows Pending Approval for leader review.
Common activity measurements

Activity records and advancement
An activity log records participation, but it does not automatically approve every advancement requirement connected with that activity. Rank requirements, merit badges, and awards still follow their own approval process.
Good recordkeeping:
Enter activities soon after they occur while dates, distances, nights, and hours are easy to confirm. Ask a leader when you are unsure which record should be used for a requirement.
