While the Boy Scout program has the rank of Eagle Scout and the Girl Scout program has the Gold Award, the Venture program has two different prestigious awards that the Venturer may earn. Aside from the Venture Silver Award which focuses on leadership, character, and service to the community, the Venture Ranger Award focuses on outdoor skills. Only when a Venturer has a high enough level of proficiency in the core areas of outdoorsman can the Venturer truly be called a Ranger.
